In preparation for impending arrival of baby # 3, due middle August,  I have decided to scale down my commitments.   Not a decision taken lightly - in fact I have been dragging my feet on this for a couple of months!!! But as this will be our last baby I want to sit back (as much as you can with three kids!!!!) and enjoy it all. As such Really Just Ribbons will be closing at the end of June. So therefore we are having a HHUUUUUUGGGGEEEE sale beginning today and going until the 30th of June. 30% off all products in the store  - no exceptions - all bargains must go :).  Unfortunately with the sale I will not be able to offer the usual free postage for all orders over $30, however postage on all orders is only $2.50 any way! Because the RJR website does not update stock levels immeadiately (it must be done manually everyday), some products may actually be out of stock by the time your order is processed.  I will endeavour to keep the stock levels as accurate as possible but with a big clearance sale this may not be possible.  Please indicate in the comments section on the checkout page if you are happy for other similar products to be substituted or whether you would prefer a refund.  If no preference is left then I will simply substitute another ribbon for the out of stock product. Be sure to spread the word to all friends and family to get in and grab a bargain before we close. This sale will be ending, and the store closing on 30th of June. I wish to thank all my new and existing customers so, so much for your support over the last two years.  As you may have guessed - Really Just Ribbons has not been a 'job' nor a 'chore' nor 'work' for me - but rather a means of almost indulging myself in one of my passions - ribbons and all things associated  (mainly scrapbooking!).  I started RJR from scratch and did everything just the way I wanted.  As such I am still happy with my decision to close the store down and to know that I will be able to devote all my time and energy to raising the new addition to our family (as well as a 6yo, 3yo, housework, volunteering at school and daycare etc etc etc) Another big thanks to the gorgeous members of the RJR Design Team - Deirdre Heath, Pippa Waddell, Shazz Pratten and Toni Crane.  These very talented ladies have shown us many diverse ways in which to use ribbons and trims and have no doubt inspired many of you to step outside of your comfort zone.  A huge thanks to them for showing such patience with me!!!!  Hugs to all four of you.

My Oh My

Look at this handsome little big fellow!  I just picked up our first ever school photos an hour ago, and I must say that I love it!  Very much Tom as we know him.  A beautiful smile to show off a hint of his dimples - but really it is his eyes that show his personality shining through don't you think?

And yes, he has had a haircut since :)

And just to show you that in the scheme of things he is really not thaaaaat big -

If you look closely at the bottom of the photo you will see a little tiny boy standing very proudly in front of an absolutely massive dump truck.  Jeff and Tom went to the Cadia Mines open day on the weekend and Tom was delighted to be able to bring back 'gold' - or rather chunks of rock with the slightest flecks of gold in them.

When my camera / computer decides to behave I will be back with some photos of little miss madam in all her glory.....

Long long overdue

Never Fear! We have not disappeared! With a hectic last month or so, the blog has not been forgotten - just put on the back burner.

All four Design Team girls have been soooooo very patient, waiting to see their lovely work up on screen so here it is at very long last.  Love ya girls!

These first couple are from Toni.  The ladies were supplied with a combination of pale pinks, whites, and pale green ribbons (just think Shabby Chic ribbons - yum!) as well as some coordinating felt.

These puffy ribbons are a bit of a fave of mine - oh so versatile, and they come in a wide range of pastel and bright colours.

I love the idea of a flower ribbon tiara for this gorgeous little girl.

Shazz has shown just how  easy it is to add a simple touch with ribbon scrunching, and yet make it look quite detailed.

How gorgeous are the Kaiser Pearls????  Self adhesive, they make it a breeze to add a little touch of something to your layout or cards.

I am also a big fan of Pippa's colour combinations in this layout of her little girl. A few bold flowers intermingled with the individual puffy ribbon violets, and some felt letters, combined with a few ribbons here and there  - a perfet combination!

See how Pippa has cut the Puffy Ribbon into individual flowers?  This ribbon can be used as an embellishment in so many more ways than your regular ribbon (if there even is such a thing as 'regular ribbon' ).  With a few Kaiser pearls and the title cut out of felt gives an overall gorgeous shabby chic effect.

Enough already!

Well we have been back from holidays for almost two weeks now, and have been absolutely flat chat filling all the ribbon orders placed over the christmas period...... And now with all orders filled and posted...... I have no exciting news or gossip or even photos to share, as I haven't even downloaded them off my camera! Slack I know.

Why am I posting then if I have absolutely nothing to say?  Because my sister seems to have forgotten my phone number or where I live etc and has absolutely no idea where I am or what I am up to apparantely :)  (check out her blog at Begsys Bride to see what I am talking about)

I also just thought I would take the opportunity to share with you this fabulous piece of music that I am currently hooked on.  Thanks to my brother Dan, I have finally cottoned on to Glen Hansard, and am now hanging out to check out the movie "Once".  Have a listen - it is an amazing song.

New Years Resolutions for RJR

The clock is ticking down towards the end of 2007, and 2008 is promising even bigger and better things for Really Just Ribbons.

• We have more new and exciting ribbons and ribbon accessories arriving in the new year;
• We have exciting giveways planned;
• and even more great specials and discounts throughout the store.

Really Just Ribbons will be closed until the 7th of January as we rest and recuperate in anticipation of a busy 2008.  The online store will still be open, and orders can be place.  These orders will be completed and sent in order of arrival, from the 7th of January, when we return.

Such a burden to bear

Just as well she did rest up though as that night we had the Daycare Christmas concert which was fantastic (no seriously it was!)  I may be biased though because my little boy was the star of the show - literally the star that goes on top of the christmas tree AND he had to sing a solo.  He was so very impressive with his confidence and his singing ability - check out the look of concentration on his face!

Lily also participated in the concert with all the other 2 year olds from her daycare room.  If you can call standing there side on to the crowd looking as bewildered as you can with a face mask on, participating.  This was the best shot I could get of her during the show.

And this was the look on her face during their last song - I don't think she opened her mouth once - but I still think she did a great job not to crack it and run of the stage crying like half the kids in her group (and like Tom did last year)

Shazz has created some amazing Christmas cards to share (and I do mean share - I am sure she won't mind if you copy her fab ideas!;) )

And I know I have said this before, but I am really loving the touch of blue that is coming out in many of the Christmas decorations and papers etc.

Good ol' Kaiser bling - gotta love 'em.

This thick wasabi striped ribbon really did just cry out to be scrunched and sewn.

Toni has used a tag for each of her three boys to record their santa wishlist.

Toni has used a glitter seal to add that sparkly magical Christmas feel to her hanger.  And note just the tiniest hint of stars at the bottom?  The star edged organza is really just a delight to work with.

How could you not love these gorgeous ribbon spools from Heidi Swapp, especially when they are just $2 each..........  All 17 varieties of Heidi Swapp Ribbon or Tulle spools can be found here
